Who is iStockphoto?

iStockphoto is the internet's premier royalty-free stock photography community, where designers can search and download over 4,000,000 images, from as low as a $1.00 each. Our international community of photographers and administrators work tirelessly to bring over 14,000 new images each week!

How does iStockphoto work?

iStockphoto works on a system of micro-payments, which allow you to purchase images in quantity. Images cost between 1 to 28 credits per download, depending on the file type and image size.

When you are logged in, credits can be purchased from our secure, SSL encrypted purchase page. Credits purchased with VISA, MasterCard, AMEX or PayPal are added to your account immediately.

How did iStockphoto get started?

iStockphoto started in February 2000, with its first contributions by bitter.

Bruce Livingstone, founder of iStockphoto.com, iStockPro.com, Evolvs Media Inc and Webcore Labs Inc, conceived the iStockphoto engine. Today its community operates the site, members upload and maintain the database of files. Teams of highly trained Inspectors research each file for quality, authenticity, copyright infringement, categorization and accuracy.
